Preamble

Formation: -

The Narcotics Control Wing of Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control, Department Sindh Karachi was notified vide SGA&CD’s Notification dated 19.02.2013 with the motive to enable the implementation of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act, 1997 and to fight its violation through prevention of illicit trafficking of Narcotics Drug, opium, liquor, intoxicating preparation and to eradicate the menace of Narcotics from the Province. The Wing currently is in establishing phase.

ORGANIZATION:  

The Office of the Director General (Narcotics Control) E,T&NC, Sindh is located at “DG’s Complex” Plot Survey No.RY-8/1, Old Survey No.B-19/2, Near JUNG PRESSI.I., Chundrigar Road, Karachi. (OLD PTCL G.M OFFICE). Mr. Waheed Shaikh, is posted as the Director General (Narcotics Control Wing) Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Sindh Karachi.

FUNCTIONS:

The main purpose of the Narcotics Control Wing is to fight the menace of Narcotics and drug trafficking at the Provincial level. The Wing is headed by the Director General (Narcotics Control Wing) E,T&NC, Sindh an Officer of (BPS-20). The Narcotics Control Wing will operate with a network of check posts and Police Stations spread throughout the Province especially the bordering areas and highways of the Province of Sindh. The Wing will also work hand to hand with other LEAs for the Narcotics suppression and will design a dependable mechanism of intelligence and information sharing.
